Chaia Marimba - Meaning

What does Chaia Marimba Mean?

The name “Chaia” is derived from the Ndebele word “shaya” which sounds the same, and which means to hit or beat. Thus, Chaia (or shaya) Marimba means to beat the marimba, which is what you have to do in order to play it properly.

Playing or “beating” the marimba is a convenient way to take out your frustrations and reduce  stress, without hurting anybody. There is also the added bonus of making music with other people. Above all, playing marimbas is just plain fun.
